The telecom industry witnessed a transformative shift as AI became the engine behind smarter operations and elevated customer experiences. SK Telecom won the Telco to Ace AI (Advanced Markets) award for two consecutive years at the Twimbit Telecom Awards 2024 and 2025.

SK Telecom’s AI momentum is driven by a structured and layered strategy. The company expanded AI-powered services through call summaries, scheduling and real-time translation. It strengthened AI transformation across contact centres, analytics and security platforms, while advancing AI-led network optimisation and personalised customer engagement. Together, these pillars formed a unified foundation that enabled SK Telecom to scale its next-GenAI capabilities.
To translate its AI ambition into action, SK Telecom backed its strategy with significant investments that accelerated scale and innovation. From deploying USD 200 million into a cutting-edge data center to developing the next-generation Sapeon X330 AI chips, the company built the technological backbone required for powerful and scalable AI solutions. These investments demonstrated how seriously SK Telecom prepared for an AI-driven future.
Strategic collaborations further amplified this progress. SK Telecom partnered with Perplexity AI to enhance AI search and personal assistants, collaborated with Lambda to deploy large-scale NVIDIA GPU clusters and worked with SK hynix and Penguin Solutions to strengthen AI-ready data center architectures. These partnerships expanded both its compute capacity and its applied AI capabilities across the organisation. Responsible AI remained central to SK Telecom’s approach. The company adopted the T. H. E. AI Principle, a framework that emphasised Telco for Humanity and prioritised ethical AI development. It also became the first Korean telecom operator to attain the ISO or IEC 42001 certification, aligning with global standards for robust AI governance.
Overall, SK Telecom’s initiatives make it clear that the company is moving beyond simple AI adoption and is helping define what the future of AI in telecom looks like. Its consecutive wins at the Twimbit Telecom Awards highlighted its leadership, strategic clarity and ability to convert vision into measurable industry impact.
